Layering Pieces - #OOTD

It’s hot, then it’s cold…

literally. Winter in Houston is interesting. It’s rainy some days, hot for a few days, then gets cold the other days. It makes it super hard to dress for the day, especially when I leave early and get home late. So what exactly does layering look like? It’s all about being able to adjust to the climate in a days period.

I start with a comfy pair of jeans, like my boyfriend fit from 7 Jeans for All Mankind, which are wearable all day long. I need to wear a belt since they’re a little big which is fun to add a texture or a pattern. The next piece is a sweater. I love this cozy Alanui sweater from Elyse Walker. It is soft and keeps me really warm, which is helpful when it’s freezing. As the sun comes out and I get warm, the sweater comes off to reveal a fancier t-shirt. Not pictured are the casual pair of shoes I wore but you can easily swap out for a bootie, sandal, or heel, depending on what your day looks like. How can you make this layering look work for you?
