Essentials For The Perfect Bath

Splish splash…

Taking a bath has become a key part of my nighttime routine. Before getting into bed I like to wash away the day and calm my mind. I find it helps me fall asleep faster and I get a more restful nights sleep. So here are my essentials for creating the perfect bath:

+Clean Bathroom/Towel

I know this might seem simple or might not feel like it would make a big difference, but it does! When everything looks clean, feels clean, and is actually clean you’d be amazed what it does for your mind and body. It just clears physical and mental space and allows you to fully relax whether or not you know it. Also, having a dry fresh clean towel ready for after to extend all those cozy feelings we’ve just created from the tub.

+Entertainment

Now that everything is clean and you’re ready for set up, you get to decide what you want to do in your bath. Read, watch a show, listen to a meditation/music, or do nothing! Most of the time, I prefer to do nothing and let my mind and thoughts unwind from the day. Like a pressure release for my brain.

+Ambiance

Whether you’re reading, watching a show, or doing nothing lighting is everything. Make sure you’ve got the right lighting that allows for full relaxation, but you’re also able to see what you’re doing. My personal preference is half dimmed lights with a candle. There’s something super therapeutic about seeing the fire near the water. It’s all about the elements, baby!

+Beverages

Wine, tea, or coffee (I don’t know what you’re into ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), I always make sure to have a glass of cool water by the tub. Just in case I’m feeling dehydrated or get too hot and need to cool down a bit. I always prefer cold, cold water with ice and a straw. I’m bougie like that!

+Bath Water

Finally, It’s time to start filling your bath! The perfect bath water temperature is anywhere between 90-105 degrees Fahrenheit. So once you find your perfect temperature just let the water run and start adding your goodies. I prefer my bath water on the warmer side. It just feels the best to me.

+Salts and Bubbles

While the bath is filling up, this is the perfect time to add in what you like. The only thing I add to my bath are pure epsom salts and bubbles. Epsom salts are just so good for the body and skin. Helps with sore muscles, tired feet, swelling, etc. Epsom salts in the bath always leave me feeling refreshed. As for bubbles, I’m pretty sure they don’t do anything but they make the bath look extra luxurious. So i’m all about the bubbles! When I’ve had a rough day, I always add more bubbles.

+Dry Brush

After you add the salts and bubbles, I like to give my body a dry brush. It helps exfoliate my skin and helps with increasing blood flow in the body. If you want to learn more about dry brushing and how to do it, you can go here.

As tempting as it is, try not to stay in the bath longer than 20 minutes. Lastly, I like to do a quick rinse in the shower when I’m finished in the tub just to be sure all bubbles stay in the bathtub.

Finally, it’s time to get into the bath and enjoy. You deserve it! Until next time, stay sweet! Byeeeeee!
